What is an off-grid inverter?
In an off-grid solar system, an inverter takes DC power from solar panels or battery storage and converts it to AC power that powers the AC appliances used in most homes, RVs, and campers. Because they don't need to include the ability to supply or receive power from the grid, are priced better than grid ties and are increasingly popular with RV owners and campers.
What are the two types of inverters?
Carspa offers a range of pure sine wave inverters and modified sine wave inverters in different wattages to suit your solar installation and energy needs.
1. Pure sine wave inverter
A pure sine wave inverter output is cleaner and has a lower THD than the grid. It is designed to power inductive loads and difficult loads such as microwave ovens, refrigerators, computers and voltage sensitive equipment such as medical equipment, printers. If you are looking for this type of inverter, P series, SKD series and PX series pure sine wave inverters are highly recommended.
2. Modified sine wave inverter
Modified sine wave inverters provide a wave shape and can cause humming and heat buildup when your equipment is working. In the long run, it could negatively affect the way your device works. If you just need an inverter for your lights or laptop, a modified sine wave inverter will do the job. The cost is half cheaper than pure sine wave inverter.
What inverter is recommended?
When sizing an inverter, it should be able to handle the maximum surge expected from the appliance and provide enough continuous power to run all the appliances simultaneously.
1. Carspa PX series pure sine inverter
Carspa PX series pure sine inverter is designed with LCD display and RS485 communication port, which can be monitored in real time. The easy-to-monitor system enables users to quickly correct any problems that arise. As a result, your inverter and overall system may be more efficient and last longer
The standby power consumption (idle power consumption) of the inverter can be very high when it is in the "ON" state without load for a long time, which will discharge your battery. It is best to choose an inverter with low standby power consumption.
2. Carspa SKD series pure wave inverter
Carspa SKD series pure wave inverter has a power saving mode, if there is no heavy load connected to the inverter, it will enter the power saving mode, and the idle power consumption can be reduced to a very low level. For those of Vans or RVs, we recommend that you purchase an inverter with a remote on/off switch, you just plug in the inverter and connect it to your living area and you can turn the inverter on/off. Conserving battery power is critical
Carspa inverters have an isolated design for maximum electrical safety during operation and will self-reset from many abnormal operating conditions once the problem has been corrected, such as overvoltage, overheating or overload. Housed in a robust aluminum housing with flange mounting points and a built-in cooling fan for good cooling.
