48V 3KVA hybrid solar inverter system and how to set it up safely.
What is hybrid solar inverter?
Hybrid solar inverters are also called integrated all-in one power inverter. It is a combination product of a solar inverter and a battery inverter. The product contains inverter, solar charge controller, AC charger, ATS(automatic transfer switch), circuit breakers all in one. This feature facilitates the simultaneous operation of solar panels, battery and mains power. The biggest advantage of these inverters is that they offer great flexibility in power supply, users can power home appliances by choosing between solar power, battery bank and grid connection.
What are the benefits of a 48V hybrid inverter ?
1.Massive cost savings for unit
The solar charge controller in these units is limited by current, so whenever you have a high voltage, you are going to typically have double the solar input capacity for the same price.
2.he cost of wire can be reduced
Copper is not cheap, when you are running a higher voltage, you will have to carry less current, that means you don’t have to spend nearly as much money on wiring.
3.Higher efficient devices
Having a higher voltage means all your system components are a little bit more efficient, everything in your system will heat up more when you have a lower voltage.
How to set the 48V hybrid inverter system step by step?
All you have to do is connect solar panels, batteries and AC extension cord , so that you can power your AC load. Then connect to the grid if you wish. After that it can do everything. It is also cheaper than if you were buy system components individually. The entire system should only take about an hour to install.
We are going to show you the detailed installation steps to connect a 48V hybrid inverter to a 48V server rack battery in the safest way:
First step, turn off the battery, so you can cut off the power at these terminals, once the circuit breaker is off, there is no energy potential at either one, a volt meter is also can be used to ensure the battery is turned off. Then remove battery terminals.
Second step, connect cables to the inverter, please always connect the cable to the inverter first rather than the battery first. If something were to go wrong with the battery and you switched it on, you could have loose conductors and it can be very dangerous. Find the battery terminals and do the correct connection and do not over tighten them. At the point, do not turn on the breaker on, because you can turn on the inverter and the inverter can create a high voltage.
Third step, connect the solar panel to the inverter. Solar panel connection is the most dangerous part of the system, because solar panel cannot be turned off like inverter and battery, you have to do it in the proper way so that you will never touch high voltage. To keep the connection as safe as possible, the MC4 extension cables are recommended, cutting them right in the middle and stripping the ends and then shoving these into the terminals and tighten them down. By doing this, you can connect any solar array that you wish with these adapters.
Fourth step, we need attached the loads to the AC output of the inverter, there are three terminal of the AC output, they are ground, line and neutral. Choose the proper gauge extension cord for connection. Put them through the little hole and tighten them up and connect the appliances.
After everything is connected , we can safely turn the battery on, and then turn on the all-in-one hybrid inverter. The screen shows the relevant parameter and you can also do the setting on the inverter.
